Well, it didn’t take long for me to fail to post on a Monday, as I’d planned, but hopefully the fact that I did get some work on the story done will make up for that. If you’re interested in excuses, last Monday was the tail end of flu for our youngest, while this Monday just gone I was busy with other projects. But, here we are on a Wednesday so I’m late but I’m not missing this week!

I’m a good way into Chapter Three now, and the staff are getting an afternoon off, split between a Thursday and a Friday, to compensate for a third year in a row without a pay raise because of Bobby’s accident. There’s a hint that something’s going on with Bessie, while Little Jimmy and Kate are having a picnic on their afternoon off. Kate has something of a secret and Jimmy is too besotted by her to notice.

There’s not much indication of what this chapter is building up to, but I’m only half-way through it.
