So I’m behind again. I could blame the weekend birthday party for our youngest that shifted the weekend chores onto Monday and the heavier than expected school workload. I could also blame the fact that Chapter 4 needs to start out carefully and I’m not settled on exactly how. But it’s neither and it’s both. Either way, excuses don’t work or put me back on track.

Anyway, Chapter 4 needs to see Young Jimmy disciplined for the transgression but also the reader, who might not understand what the transgression actually was needs to have the situation cleared up. I need to proceed carefully so the chapter can make its mark without seeming to set a pattern of ending on cliffhanger drama. I also need to recenter the narrative as I’ve had to focus on Jimmy to the point that a reader could be forgiven for thinking the story is about him. It isn’t.

So if anyone out there in Anonystan is keeping up and wondering if I’m slacking off, I’m not. I’ll be ready to upload the start to Chapter 4 hopefully on Monday.
