This is one of the few times I made my goal – I’m posting on a Monday and I hit my target of completing Chapter 6!

But since I’m no longer going to post my initial drafts here, I’ll just fill in with a quick synopsis.

Chapter Five ended very late in the evening and with Jimmy’s day starting so early it’s not surprising that he overslept. That gave the day a rough start and is a turning point for his willingness to put in any effort.

Bessie’s secret is revealed to the Butler, who’d already guessed, and the final meal of the day is a conversation amongst the staff, a plethora of complaints about work and poking fun at colleagues. It doesn’t advance the plot, but along with the development of Jimmy’s experience the threads are set for future events.

I’m about a third of the way through the book now, so let’s see if I can get this thing ready for me to work through again before the end of May.

That’d be quite an achievement!
