School.
My grades from school officially posted yesterday. Five As and a B, so not bad. There’s too much work to do around here to be going back to school in the fall, so it’ll be sometime next year before I complete the last six hours required to graduate with a second Bachelors.
Old Man.
Things got quiet enough around here yesterday for me to work on the penultimate chapter. There’s still one chapter left, and if I can find a window of time when there’s nothing that needs doing (and I’m not exhausted) I can put this one to bed for a while before revising it later this Summer.
Keeping Busy.
Just because school’s out, that doesn’t mean I’m free as a bird. I have the rabbit house to complete before I leave on vacation in two weeks, so that’s putting a crimp on all my other activities. In the mean time, here’s a quick photographic report on what I’ve been up to. over the last seven days.
The holes for the posts were put in with a 10-inch two-man auger, which threw us around quite a bit!

Almost as unwieldy were these 14-ft posts that had to be set into the holes.

Here all eight posts have been set into their holes.

We’re starting to get them all braced, beginning with the corners.

All eight posts are now braced and cemented in. This was Friday, before a rainstorm Saturday afternoon.

Here’s where we stood yesterday afternoon. The two beams on one side had been put up and I had cut and notched all but the last post on the near side.

And today, that last post got cut and notched, then I got the first of the two beams up and into place – not easy for a regular guy working on his own.

I’m hoping we’ll get this thing complete within the next week or so, then I can move the rabbits and finish the first draft of the book.
Hope everyone has a great week!
