Where Have I Been?

The Rabbit Barn in July
I can’t believe it’s been since early May since I posted! Well at least it’s not August just yet!
So what have I been up to that’s made me neglect my life’s work?
For a start, from the time I last posted until the last part of May was spent working like there would be no tomorrow trying to get the rabbit barn finished and the rabbits taken care of.
Of course, as you can see from the picture I took a few minutes ago, it didn’t all come together, so that’s still on my to-do list along with over a hundred other things.
None of these projects weighed heavily on me from the end of May until a couple of weeks ago while I took a break back home in England.
The Old Man.

The zero revision of Old Man
Well, the plan originally was to have the complete manuscript written, printed and taken with me on my Summer vacation to start working through.
That plan failed as well.
I got through to the end of the penultimate chapter and then my days became too completely full of everything else. What you see here is the hard copy of Chapters One through Fifteen with the final chapter still unwritten. The new plan is to revise these chapters and then write a fitting conclusion that pulls everything together neatly.
Workload.
That’s the embarrassing part. I am fully loaded with jobs, tasks, projects to do and problems to solve, It’s been almost two weeks since I got back and I haven’t made much of a start.
I have a plan to set up two periods of time for tasks and problems each day, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, which will hopefully balance the happenstance of real life with the enormous snowball of issues requiring my attention. At best, I don’t expect to be at a loose end until next May at the earliest before I can take on any more sizable projects. With any luck I’ll be able to stick to my aforementioned plan to post and work on The Old Man every Monday. I think it’s worth it both to let the world know that hey, I’m still here! and as a mode of accountability – if you’re telling people that you’re doing something, you really need to be doing something.
Health.
One other issue that arose during my extended absence was health. Between May and today I have had no fewer than four pompholyx eczema flare-ups that have returned following courses of prednisolone and, counting the two I had yesterday and one I forgot to make a note of, I’ve had eight migraines.

Pompholyx Eczema
I’m highly confident that the autoimmune nature of my eczema means its related to gut health and there is a gut-brain connection that may explain the cluster of migraines I’ve been getting.
So I’m also conducting research on dietary changes that I hope will alleviate all of this nonsense.
In full disclosure, I should indicate that neither my eczema nor my purely ocular migraines can compete with the suffering I’ve seen others endure. My hat goes of to them because I have a clue what they’re going through, most don’t.
…And Back to the Grindstone!
Anyway, it’s good to be back!
Next week I’ll have some real progress of one form or another to report and I look forward to that!
