The Second Edit Cycle.

Back In The Saddle Again.

Starting the Second Edit
Starting the Second Edit.

I don’t remember how, after all, this was on Monday, but I suspect the weather was lousy. At any rate, there came a short period of time that I could dedicate to working on the second edit cycle.

It’s a little odd because, later in the week (Friday, if it matters, which it doesn’t) after another at-home edit session, it struck me that I’d actively blown off the opportunity to have fun playing in order to sit in a cold house and get some more editing done

Something To Do.

Working At The Girl Scout Cookie Booth, Friday March 4th.
Friday at the Cookie Booth.

Something that helped this past week were having two Girl Scout Cookie booths for the girls to attend at Lowe’s, with nothing much for me to do.

This gave me a couple of hours – minus the time to spend some money on the obligatory hardware supplies – to sit in quiet and work.

Sunday at the Cookie Booth.

On Friday I got at far as half-way through Chapter 9, then Sunday I made it the rest of the way through and into Chapter 10.

This puts me at about a quarter of the way through. Not bad for one week’s work.

On Monday there’s another Girl Scout Troop meeting, which I won’t be attending, so there’ll be another slot for me to get some work done in peace and quiet.

Alpha Reader.

If I can keep this pace up, which depends heavily on my other obligations, then I should be getting ready for my Alpha Reader the first week of April. At which time I’ll need to migrate over to Scrivener, which will be an education and I can guarantee I’ll have a post dedicated to that. Then I’ll need to draft some questions, which will need some thought because I want to get enough information to be useful, but not so much as to be The Spanish Inquisition.

Nobody expected that.

The Old Man Progress, 10 March 2019.
Progress as of 10 March 2019

I’ve mentioned the primary editing opportunity next week, but I’ve also got a Field School Thursday evening which will dominate that day. Other than that, I’m still working on wiring the new Shed to make it a functional workshop, but for right now there’s no heavy pressure on that and judging by this past week I should be able to get good progress on both fronts.

Next week also sees the start of Week 7 of my eight-week AIP exclusion diet before I start trying to reintroduce things. So far I’ve had no migraines and perhaps a total of four tiny eczema spots, so I think I’ve made some progress.

Other than that, I hope everyone has a great week!
