A Quick Update.

Moving Forward.

All of my projects have been progressing quite nicely, but I’m not in a position to write much about anything since nothing has progressed far enough yet, so today’s update is going to be very brief.

Here are the highlights for the past week and an indication of where I should be by next Monday’s post.

The Old Man.

I know that no progress was made by my Alpha Reader during the last week, but she’s made it some way past page 100, which means at least halfway through. The indications are that the story has been well received so far.

I’m really looking forward to constructive criticism, but for now I still have to remain patient.

It’s not like I’ve got nothing else to do.

I’m a little under a chapter and a half from the end of The Jews Of Warsaw, then I’ll run back through my notes and scratchings to determine what elements of the story of the Warsaw Ghetto will be background candidates for Black Box Factory.

I should note that Black Box Factory is not intended to be a fictionalized story set in the Warsaw Ghetto. There are a number of parallels between the two, but I’ll be drawing on a number of historic elements for background, the Warsaw Ghetto experience is just one of them.

I’d hope to have that ready for the next blog post even if I make no other progress anywhere else.

The Chickens.

The little buggers aren’t so little any more and need to be put out to pasture very soon. To that end, I’m building one of Justin Rhodes little chick-shaws.

Of course, I haven’t finished that either, but it should also be ready to write about by the next blog post.

The NRCS Project.

Work on planning this has begun and I’m in the process of gathering together price information in order to help plan out the most cost effective way to move forward.

Additionally, I need to go out onto the property and see how the paddock layouts that work well on paper can translate onto the land itself.

This project and the chicken project are going to be longer term works in progress that I’ll be mentioning sporadically when there’s no meaningful progress to report about on the writing front.

Mothers’ Day.

Sunday May 12th was Mothers’ Day here in the US, so this rough-and-ready post is being tacked together in something of a hurry Monday morning to make my arbitrary 9:00 am post deadline.

We had a fun day which included tea and homemade scones with lemon curd and homemade clotted cream.

Up Next…

My goal for next week’s post is to write up the elements of the Warsaw Ghetto that might translate into Black Box Factory. I have a lot of other things on as well, but I’m confident I’ll get far enough to have something to write about.

At the same time, I’ll be pushing forward on the rest of my jobs, a lot of which aren’t mentioned here.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week. Stay safe.
