This is going to be a short post. In part, because as far as the writing goes I’m gummed up in Chapter 10 and I’m not convinced it’s going to be safe from a total rewrite, but I’m also further gummed up by the arrival of a sleep-deprivation machine.
Meet Hazel, our new puppy.
Her first night here put a stop to any ideas I had about getting any sleep. While the wife is off from work, we’ve been sharing the overnight duties, but as of only a bare few hours from now – a too unhappy few – that duty falls entirely on the shoulders of Yours Truly.
So while I have my hands full taking her out for her regular toilet break and cleaning up after any mishaps, I’m going to have even less time to spend on the novel.
Such is life.
It’s an investment, I know. The time I put in now I’ll get back from her later.
It’s just there’s only so many hours in the day and my days are already full.
